Meet the Squirrel
In Norse myth, Ratatosk carries messages up and down the world-tree — and garbles them along the way. In the plugin he hops at your chosen pace, leaning on knobs, re-routing stages, muting and unmuting stops on the tree. You watch his paws move on the actual controls, live.
Rabid sets how badly he behaves: at zero he only breathes the sound, at full he rebuilds the signal path mid-bar. Every journey is a seed — a shareable RATATOSK-XXXX code that replays the exact same mischief. And he never touches your automation: his mischief lives under the parameters, never in them.
Lock him to your tempo, and the chaos lands on the beat.
The medallion is carved in the Urnes style, after the beasts of Norway's oldest stave church portals. A thousand-year-old troublemaker, still on the job.

Six stops on the tree
GRANULE, WHIRL, CRUSH, FUZZ, STUTTER and FROST — micro-sampling, through-zero flanging, living bit-crush, octave overdrive, beat-aware repeats and granular freeze. Drag their names between the carved rings to route the chain by hand.
Scenes & morph
Capture four full snapshots — knobs, routing, squirrel and all — then glide between them with one automatable MORPH knob. Every control visibly travels as the plugin reshapes itself.
On the grid, when you want
Grain sizes, sweep rates and the Squirrel’s hops can lock to your DAW’s tempo — down to triplet divisions, with hops landing exactly on the beat. Or set everything free-running for soundscapes.
Loudness that never jumps
Every stage is continuously loudness-matched, so the Squirrel can swap FUZZ for FROST mid-phrase without a volume lurch. Drive knobs change character, not level.
Never a click
Every route change — his or yours — rides a 35 ms dip-to-dry crossfade, and his knob nudges glide instead of stepping. Chaos, delivered smoothly.
Performance-safe output
A transparent peak limiter guards the output at −0.3 dBFS, with per-stage and master dry/wet mixes to sit the mangling exactly where your track needs it.
