Janski Plugins № 1

JANSKI COMPRESSOR

A flavour compressor with a living soul. Smooth, musical dynamics, and a Mojo circuit whose harmonics drift like warm analog hardware. No two passes ever sound the same.

The secret sauce

Living Mojo

Real hardware is never frozen. Bias points drift with temperature, power rails sag, and no two channels ever match. The Mojo circuit models exactly that: slow random walks drift the saturator's bias, its even-harmonic blend and its drive, independently per channel, uniquely seeded per instance.

Push the compressor harder and the drift runs deeper and faster, like circuitry warming up. Back at zero, the plugin is bit-exact and null-tests clean. The mojo is there when you ask for it, and gone when you don't.

No two passes through the Mojo are ever the same.

The medallion behind the Mojo knob is drawn from a centuries-old Norwegian stavkirke carving. A thousand-year-old pattern, wrapped around the flavour circuit of a Norwegian plugin.

Built like hardware, engineered like software

True auto-gain

Makeup is measured, not estimated: the wet path is RMS-matched to the input, with analytic feed-forward so knob moves land instantly. Tweak anything. The level stays put.

Musical ballistics

Soft-knee compression with program-dependent auto-release: quick on transients, slow on sustained squeeze. A built-in sidechain high-pass keeps the low end from pumping.

Parallel by design

The Mix knob blends a latency-compensated dry path: New York compression with zero comb filtering, and bit-exact dry at 0 %.

Breathing saturation

2× oversampled asymmetric saturation whose drive follows the gain reduction. The harder it compresses, the harder the "transformer" is pushed.

Click-free bypass

A 25 ms equal-gain crossfade wired into the host bypass. Toggle it mid-mix. Mathematically zero discontinuity.

Studio metering

A big gain-reduction VU with a squeeze lamp that warms up as the compressor leans in, flanked by LCD in/out peak meters with hold and clip latches.
